What Our Clients Are Saying

"Great Trainer! We adopted two puppies (sisters), and were warned by the rescue group that they could be difficult to train. Richard worked with both dogs and tailored a training program that worked for each of them. Richard had several different techniques to use so we could find what works best for each dog. Our girls have progressed well with Richard's guidance, and they enjoyed their training sessions. They would also get excited when they saw him coming." -- Carol 3-31-15

"Richard was extremely helpful in working with our fearful/aggressive dog and us. He came out to our house and took some history and then observed our dog in actual scenarios at home/walking in our neighborhood. We discussed strategies and then put them to practice. He gave encouragement and helpful feedback. As we and our dog became more confident we did some training with Richard at an area park/trail. The combination of working at home/neighborhood and unfamiliar new environments was really helpful. We feel like we have strategies for making our home life more peaceful, as well as the confidence to try some new places with our dog. Richard was personable and approachable. We feel very comfortable calling him up again for any future training needs. Highly recommended!" -- Lauren F. 2-16-15

"I've been working with Richard for the past few weeks with my foster dog who has separation anxiety. He comes to my home and works one-on-one with me and the pup. Very knowledgeable about behavioral techniques to slowly acclimate her to being alone. He uses exclusively positive reinforcement and is very patient with both the dog and owner. You can tell he really cares about the well being of the animal!" -- Stef T. 2-12-15.

"Best trainer for your dog and you! Richard is awesome! After my dogs got into a fight, I was in need of some help. Richard came to my house and worked with my two dogs but most importantly showed ME how to work with my dogs. Richard showed me a plethora of techniques that I could practice with my dogs without him there. I have seen a huge improvement in the 4 months that my dogs and I have been working with Richard and would highly recommend him." -- TS 8-27-14

"Richard is amazing! I went from thinking my dog's issues were permanent to seeing HUGE improvement in two sessions. What I like about Richard is that he works with people as much as their pets. I plan to check in with him every now and then to stay on the right path. Yet I can't believe how much we accomplished in a short period of time." -- Andrea S. 7-22-14.

"Richard has been an excellent trainer for our English Cocker who is in the full throes of puppyhood. Richard is gentle, patient and a firm believer in training your puppy to behave out of a desire to please, not fear. He understands the process is training the owner as much, if not more than, the dog. I highly recommend Richard and am grateful for his help." -- Bob H. 6-1-14

"We are so thankful to Richard for his guidance with our dog. We adopted an 8-month-old Great Pyrenees pup. She had a very tough beginning, was given no training and had no manners. We wanted to introduce her to our family in a positive way. We understood she would be a big dog, we didn't understand how to train a big dog. Through Richard's instruction, we learned a language and technique to effectively communicate. Thank you Richard, you're the best!" -- Leslie A. 3-19-14

"We recently adopted a 6-month-old Boston terrier mix. She is very sweet and smart but her energy and lack of manners were becoming an issue. We did private sessions with Richard and it made a world of difference. Richard was always on time and professional. He provided a lot of support outside the sessions by emailing materials covering what we learned. Richard taught us the skills to communicate well with our puppy and live harmoniously" -- Farley E. 2-28-14

"Richard came to our rescue when we got our golden doodle puppy. My husband and I have a two-year-old golden doodle and a baby on the way. Richard taught us strategies to prevent our dogs from wrestling with each other inside, barking excessively and jumping on us and guests. We now feel less anxious about our dogs' behavior when our baby arrives and we have more peace in our home! Richard's techniques include positive reinforcement and are very effective. We had a wonderful experience." -- Lara V. 1-26-14

"Richard is one of the most patient and knowledgeable trainers we've met. He taught us how to work with our dog, Cooper, in a positive manner that has produced excellent results. When we rescued a second dog who was extremely shy, he came to our rescue again. He brought Cassie out of her shell and she is wonderful. Cooper and Cassie are always excited to see him. We highly recommend Richard. -- Michelle S. 9-29-13

"I just finished Puppy K classes with Richard and our golden doodle, Rosie. Richard was a terrific teacher and made this fun and enjoyable for humans and puppies! He exudes calm leadership that the dogs clearly responded to. He was an excellent model for what we can aspire to be for our dogs. The class was a great beginning for teaching basic commands and wonderful socialization experience for the puppies. Rosie came home tired and took a good nap that felt like icing on the cake! I highly recommend this class." -- Meg A. 6-8-14

"Richard is great! When my boyfriend and I moved in together, we needed help merging two doggie households. Richard uses positive reinforcement - no shock collars, yelling or screaming. He is patient and funny. Also, you can tell he really enjoys animals and knows how their minds work. The biggest part is training the human, and he was always kind and helpful. Yes, you will feel goofy talking to your dog in an upbeat voice but it works. After each session, Richard emails info on how to continue reinforcing the behavior - a nice touch." -- Jen M. 9-12-13
